----
File Extensions the FileMaker runtime provided with NorthStarDb requires a dedicated file extension. The 0.9.2 and later versions use the file extension “CGN” for files containing NorthStarDb programing and data. (Note this is a change from earlier NorthStarDb versions which used the “NSD” extension. The NSD extension was found to confect with another program in a few cases.)
Windows or Mac NorthStarDb, when used with FileMaker Pro, can use the runtime files with the “.CGN” extension but you will find it easier to launch and configure on Fm server if the files have the standard FileMaker “.FP7” extension.
Those who have the NorthStarDb distribution for use with FileMaker Pro will have files with the “.FP7” extension. THERE IS NO INTERNAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN .CGN AND .FP7 FILES OTHER THAN THE EXTENSION.
