“Find” is another word for “Query.” With NorthStarDb's tools and processes you will be able to find people or groups of people in your database.

Choosing the find icon will bring you to the find tabs screen.

The Find Tabs Screen allows you to find any person or group in the database by any characteristic recorded in the database.

• For example to find the person or persons who has an item “General Interest 1,”

• Tab choose “General Interest 1” from the Items and Actions pull down menu.
• Then press the OK button to finish your find
• You be returned to the Overview screen with a “Found Set” of those who have the “General Interest 1” Item.
• The find can do much more sophisticated finds, such as everyone who lives in ME and has a “General Interest 1” minus those who have “General Interest 2”

The tabs on the Find Screen correspond to the various data entry and view areas in NorthStarDb. NorthStarDb uses the standard FileMaker find tools. (Another NorthStarDb mini-manual, “NorthStarDb Finds” will go into detail on using advanced finds with NorthStarDb.)
